It’s easy as 1,2,3. Your first bottle of Truvada® or Descovy® can be on its way in as little as 5-business days. GET STARTED NOW

Yes. Your safety is our top priority. PrEP is prescribed by experienced licensed physicians following the same standards as any other physician. We only prescribe PrEP if it’s safe based on your lab results and health information.

Yes. Before you can start PrEP, you will need to complete a health questionnaire, video consult and the required lab work, which will test for HIV, Hepatitis B and your Kidney function. Once complete, a doctor will review results and, if appropriate, write you a prescription for PrEP.

Once your lab results are in and reviewed by our licensed physician, your prescription is sent to one of our partner pharmacies and usually ships within 24-business hours. Most people receive their medication within 1–2 business days. You can track your order status and package via your MISTR PROFILE. The tracking code for your medication is also sent via email.

We don’t accept outside prescriptions, but you can sign-up and get a new PrEP prescription for free through MISTR. It’s quick, easy and you don’t even have to leave your home to do it.

Yes.  After you complete your health questionnaire you will be able to schedule a video consult with one of our licensed physicians. Should you have additional question or concerns afterwards, you can always reach out to your assigned physician via your MISTR PROFILE utilizing secure online chat, phone call and/or video chat.

After completing your online health questionnaire, we’ll send you a discreet at-home testing kit. It includes everything you need to collect your samples and mail them back using prepaid envelope. Most people complete the process in 10 minutes or less.

Lab results are normally received within 2-3 business days, after the lab has received your samples. We’ll send you an email notifying you when you can view these results securely through your MISTR PROFILE, and of course you can track your order status anytime via your MISTR PROFILE.

Not at all, you have options. While our at-home kits are fast and private, you can also choose in-person testing at over 2,200 lab locations across the U.S. Appointments take 15 minutes or less and make and modify your appointment time online via your MISTR PROFILE.

MISTR will send you a tracking number via email each time you are sent an at-home testing kit or medication, and will keep you up to date with other alerts, but also track your packages and order status anytime online via your MISTR PROFILE.

Your kit includes everything you need: a urine sample cup, oral and anal swabs, and a finger-prick blood test. The instructions are simple and take under 10 minutes. If you need help, we have how-to videos and customer support ready to guide you. You can also check our INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS

MISTR’s at-home testing kit allows you to perform the required labs for PrEP and test yourself for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, and some cases Syphilis and Hepatitis C.

IMPORTANT:

  • Write your date of birth (DOB) on each blood card.
  • Run your finger under warm water for a minute, then use an alcohol pad to clean the finger before pricking it.
  • Let your blood drip onto the blood card and be sure to fill each circle completely.
  • Let the blood card dry for 10 minutes before closing it and putting it in the bag.
  • Don’t throw out the liquid in each tube.
  • Fill the urine tube anyplace in between the two lines.
  • The oral swab should be used for 20-30 seconds, in the back of the throat.
  • The anal swab should go in about 2 inches and be rotated for 20-30 seconds.

NOTE: If you have tested positive for syphilis previously, you will not be able to utilize our at-home test to detect a new syphilis infection.

If you test positive for a sexually transmitted infection your assigned doctor and patient care coordinator will reach out to you directly with treatment options, and referrals to specialized doctors and free treatment resources if necessary.

You can, but here’s the catch: when you use a MISTR partner pharmacy, your service stays 100% free, and we handle all the paperwork. If you choose another pharmacy, you may have to cover doctor visits, labs, and other costs out of pocket.

We can send your prescription to another pharmacy of your choosing in the Surescripts Network, you will have to pick up your prescription in person.

Yes, always. We never share your information without your permission. Our systems meet strict federal privacy standards to protect your health and your trust. You can read our Privacy Policy for further details.

ED Treatment

If you’ve used MISTR to access PrEP it’s a similar process, but even easier. You’ll complete a quick online health questionnaire, that will be reviewed by one our licensed physicians and if appropriate they’ll prescribe your desired treatment that will be delivered discreetly to your door. Some states do require a quick video call.
Ed medication can be bundled with your PrEP and DoxyPEP or purchased on its’ own.

MISTR offers Sildenafil (generic Viagra) and Tadalafil (generic Cialis), as well as MISTR Magic, a unquietly formulated compounded medication that contains both sildenafil and tadalafil in one dissolvable lozenge. Each offering kicks in a little differently and lasts for different amounts of time.

MISTR’s 2-in-1 dissolvables combines two active ingredients: sildenafil and tadalafil, both classified as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These medications function by relaxing blood vessels and enhancing blood flow to the penis, facilitating the achievement and maintenance of an erection. The treatment is a sublingual tablet, which means it dissolves under your tongue. Gets you hard in 15 minutes on average after it dissolves, and keeps you ready for up to 36 hours.

MISTR also offers sildenafil and tadalafil in pill form as single-ingredient prescriptions.

ED medications are highly effective for most people, with clinical data showing that about 63% to 82% of patients experienced improved erections. That said, everyone’s body is different, so your provider may help fine-tune your treatment by adjusting the dose or suggesting you try it a few times under different conditions.

Yes, with MISTR diagnosing and prescribing ED done entirely online. Just answer a few questions about your symptoms and health history, and one of our licensed physician will review everything just like they would in person. The more honest and detailed you are, the better we can tailor the right treatment for you.

Blood pressure helps us make sure ED medication is safe for you. If it’s too high or too low, certain treatments may not be the right fit, so your provider needs a recent reading to guide the best option for you. You can use a reading from the past six months. Most local pharmacies offer free blood readings. More details on a normal blood pressure levels can be found online here.

Right now, MISTR focuses on oral PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil and tadalafil, the most trusted and effective first-line treatments for ED. If you’re interested in exploring other options such as devices, procedures, or different types of care, we recommend connecting with an in-person provider who can walk you through those alternatives.

As always, MISTR ships your order in discreet packaging for total privacy. Your medication arrives in convenient single-use packs, making it easy to take with you wherever you go.

When you’re sexually stimulated, your body releases nitric oxide, which increases a compound called cGMP. This helps relax blood vessels and boost blood flow where it matters. Sildenafil and tadalafil, are PDE5 inhibitors that help keep cGMP levels higher for longer, making it easier to get and maintain an erection.

At MISTR we know how important convenience is. Our 2-in-1 dissolvable MISTR Magic can kick in in as little as 15 minutes, though we usually recommend taking it about 30–45 minutes before things start heating up. For best results, if you’re using standard sildenafil pills, plan for around 30 minutes before activity, and for tadalafil plan for at least an hour ahead of time.

Think of it as choosing your timeline. Sildenafil typically lasts around 4–5 hours, while tadalafil can keep the fun going for up to 36 hours (often called the “weekend pill”).

Most people tolerate ED medications really well, but like anything, you might notice a few mild side effects. The most common ones include headache, flushing, slight stomach discomfort, stuffy nose, dizziness, mild visual disturbances or a bit of muscle or back soreness. If anything feels persistent or bothersome, you can consult with your assigned MISTR physician who will help you find the best path forward. Your assigned MISTR physician is available online via your MISTR Profile.

Serious side effects are rare, but it’s important to know when to act. Get medical help right away if you experience chest pain, severe dizziness or fainting, an erection lasting longer than four hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, signs of an allergic reaction like swelling of the face or throat, or any severe skin reactions such as blistering or peeling.

Always let your provider know about any medications or supplements you’re taking so we can make sure everything works safely together. Some combinations should be avoided, including nitrates or “poppers,” certain blood pressure medications, strong prescription drugs like ritonavir or ketoconazole, grapefruit juice, and excessive alcohol, as these can cause unsafe drops in blood pressure or prolonged erections.

No worries, just share your full medical history during your online MISTR health review, so our licensed physicians can make sure your treatment is safe and right for you. If you have any specific concerns, it’s always a good idea to check in with your primary care provider as well.

Combining sildenafil and tadalafil should only be done under the guidance of a licensed provider who understands your medical history. With the MISTR Magic 2-in-1 dissolvable is carefully prescribed to give you the benefits of both in a safe, balanced way. Trying to mix or adjust doses on your own can increase the risk of side effects, so it’s best to leave that part to us.

Our ED options are designed to work when you need it, not as a daily habit. Stick to no more than one dose within a 24-hour window, and remember that some options (like tadalafil) can stay active in your system for up to 36 hours, so you’re covered longer than you think.

Our ED options are designed to help you get and stay ready by improving blood flow. Some people notice it’s easier to go for round two, and while we hope everyone experiences this, results can vary. Just keep in mind, these aren’t specifically made to treat premature ejaculation, but they can definitely help keep the momentum going.

Not exactly. Our ED options help you get and stay hard by improving blood flow, but they don’t directly change sensitivity. If sensitivity is something you’re curious about, your primary care provider can help you explore options that fit your goals.

If Viagra or Cialis didn’t quite do the trick, don’t stress. MISTR’s 2-in-1 option combines both ingredients into one formula, which can help give you a better overall result. Sometimes it just takes the right combo to find your sweet spot.

MISTR’s ED medications are specifically designed for people assigned male at birth.

What is PrEP?

PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) is a once-daily HIV prevention pill for people who are HIV-negative. It reduces your risk of contracting HIV by up to 99% when taken consistently. Currently, the two FDA-approved PrEP medications are Truvada® and Descovy®, both of which block the HIV virus from multiplying in your body if exposed.

When taken daily, PrEP is 99% effective in preventing HIV transmission. This high level of protection is supported by CDC-backed studies and clinical trials. Learn more about the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) review of the clinical trials and studies here.

PrEP takes about 7 days before it is fully effective in rectal tissue, and take up to 20 days for vaginal tissue. However, the CDC recommends taking PrEP every day for 21 days prior to any possible exposure to HIV. The drug must be potent enough in the bloodstream to block HIV infection. Taking a pill right before or immediately after possible exposure to the virus will not protect against a potential HIV infection.

PrEP only protects against HIV, not other sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea or chlamydia. Regular STD screening is still important for your health.

PrEP (a.k.a. Truvada® or Descovy®) is a once daily pill that works by blocking an enzyme called HIV reverse transcriptase. By blocking this enzyme, HIV is prevented from replicating itself inside the body.

Truvada® is the first drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as pre-exposure prophylactic (PrEP) medication, and the only drug approved for use by women. It is a single pill that you take every day. Truvada® combines two active ingredients: emtricitabine and tenofovir.

Descovy® was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in October 2019 as the second  pre-exposure prophylactic (PrEP)  medication, but only for cisgender men and transgender women. It is a single pill that you take every day. Each tablet in Descovy® combines two active ingredients: emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide.

Yes. A generic version of Truvada® is available in the U.S., making PrEP more affordable for many individuals.

PrEP is most effective when taken every single day. If you take PrEP daily, the level of protection is about 99%. If you take PrEP four times per week, the level of protection is about 96%. When taken less than 4 days per week, the potency of the drug in the bloodstream is greatly reduced, and the drug’s effectiveness drops dramatically. If you miss a dose, make sure to take the next one, but there is no need to double up.

For the most part, yes, but it is important that you list any drugs you are currently taking when completing the health questionnaire.

There are no known interactions with alcohol and/or recreational drugs and Truvada® or Descovy®, both FDA approved medications for PrEP.

No, you do not need to take this medication with food.

Those taking PrEP report little to no side effects, but symptoms such as headache, abdominal pain, and weight loss can happen. These side effects typically do not last long and often go away entirely within the first month. If you’re experiencing prolonged side effects, please let your doctor know, who you can message directly from your MISTR PROFILE.

No. PrEP is preventative, and should NOT to be taken after you are exposed to HIV. If exposed to HIV in the last 72-hours, you can take PEP, also known as post-exposure prophylaxis.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis is PrEP, a way to prevent HIV infection by taking the pill Truvada® or Descovy® every day. The word “prophylaxis” means “to prevent or control the spread of an infection or disease” Pre (before), Exposure (coming into contact with HIV), Prophylaxis (treatment to prevent an infection from happening).

PrEP only needs to be taken while at risk of exposure to HIV. As sexual habits change, PrEP may not need to be continued. This is something you can discuss with a doctor via your MISTR PROFILE. When deciding to stop PrEP, you should continue to take it daily for at least four weeks after the last possible risk of exposure to HIV.

What is PEP?

Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is a month-long (28 day) course of anti-HIV medications that must be started within 72-hours of possible exposure to HIV to prevent permanent infection. PEP’s effectiveness varies depending on when it is initiated. According to the CDC it can be up to 80% effective. You can learn more about PEP here.

PEP consists of 2-3 antiretroviral medications, the same medicines that people with HIV take to stay healthy. If exposed to HIV, it takes a few days for an HIV infection to take hold in the body. After starting PEP, the medication stops the virus from multiplying. As you continue taking PEP for the full 28–days, cells that have been infected with HIV die. The virus will then not spread to the rest of the body.

PrEP is a preventative medication that you take proactively each day to prevent HIV. PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis. PEP is the medication you take to prevent HIV after you have been exposed to the virus. PEP is a month-long (28 day) course of anti-HIV medications that must be started within 72-hours of exposure. PEP stands for post-exposure prophylaxis.
