TIP: Get moving to help get your blood flow moving.  Running your finger under some warm before you complete the test also helps. Be sure to let your blood flow freely onto the circles. Do not press your finger against the card.

The MISTR’s free HIV test kit includes a 4th Generation HIV 1/2 Ag-Ab screening test. The specimens are processed at our lab, so you will need to return your kit utilizing the prepaid return shipping label.

No, all kits include a prepaid return shipping label addressed to the lab. All you need to do is put your specimens inside the envelope as per the instructions and drop it off at the nearest USPS location.

The blood card will include a sticker or “collection label” with space for you to write your Full Name, Date of Birth and Date/Time of Collection. The registration step ties you to your test kit, and thus your kit cannot be processed without completing this step.

Test kits should be usable up to one year from time you received your test kit. There is an expiration date printed on a sticker on the outside of the box.

Once your kit has been processed, you will be sent a secure link to access your results to the email provided during the kit registration step.

Once you return your kit it typically takes 1-2 days for the lab to receive the test kit and 1-2 business days for the lab to process the sample once it is received.

You can reach out [email protected] if your test kit is missing any of the materials laid out in the instructions. We’ll send out replacement materials at no cost.
